This vintage 80s Waltham men's/unisex watch is a "modern" take on a classic Mid Century design. And, I've FULLY RESTORED the mechanical workings so it runs like new. I mounted it on a new old stock (unworn!), tan "ripstop" nylon one-piece band from the 1940s.

It's not too big, and not too small. The case is 32mm (1.3") wide by 38mm (1.5") tall. It's about the same size as the original 1980s Swatch.

I originally bought this for my collection because I'm obsessed with moonphase watches. Moonphase has historically been a fantastically expensive feature available only on watches costing thousands of dollars. "Modern" 1980s quartz movement technology (compared with 100 year old mechanical watches) brought this wonderful celestial feature to more affordable timepieces.

The coolest detail is the jeweled "cabochon" crown—set with a polished black spinel. (Reminiscent of an old Cartier, like this: https://etsy.me/3f07w8s)

It's perfect for everyday casual outfits, denim, date night, and business casual. It's great for astronomers, stargazers, astronauts, stylish nerds—or anyone trying to sleep with them.

It's cosmetically in VERY GOOD used condition. There are light scratches and signs of wear on the watch case and caseback commensurate with age and wear.

The front crystal, quartz movement, battery, and watchband are in new condition. The dial, crown, and hands are in like new condition.

HOW DOES IT RUN? The mechanical condition is EXCELLENT. I fully restored it to ensure you're getting a dependable, functional timepiece. Every single tiny piece was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, adjusted, reassembled, and calibrated to keep time as well as the day it was first made. (I replaced the entire movement, crystal, and winding stem.) Sounds complicated and expensive, right?

This mechanical restoration would cost you at least $120 at your watchmaker. That's $120 in maintenance you won't have to pay! YOU'RE WELCOME!

It hasn't been tested for water resistance. Keep it dry.


The included 1940s tan ripstop nylon band fits wrists up to ~8". Measure your wrist with a measuring tape before purchasing. Contact me if you want a different band.


It's a battery powered "quartz" watch. No winding needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my package require a signature?

Yes. A signature is required for all shipments. That way you can rest assured that your items will arrive safely. Make sure to use a shipping address where someone can sign for your package, otherwise you'll have to go to the post office to collect it.

What shipping method do you use?

Items with free shipping are sent by USPS First Class with insurance and signature required. Upgraded shipping is USPS Priority Express mail with insurance and signature required.

Can I upgrade to faster shipping?

Yes! Upgraded shipping is via USPS Priority Express Mail with insurance and signature required. It usually takes 1-2 days within the continental USA.

Can I get a different colored watchband?

I have watchbands in many different styles, colors and materials. If you love the watch but want a different color band, send me a message. I'll see if I have the color you want in my inventory. If I don't, you can swap out the band for any strap you'd like by buying one online or taking it to your local jeweler or watch repair store.

Does my watch need a battery?

It depends on the watch.

1) Mechanical (hand-winding): These watches use a spring and gears to run. There is no battery. You must wind the watch once daily for it to keep running. Most of my watches are this kind.

2) Mechanical (automatic/kinetic): These use a spring and gears as well as a swinging pendulum that rotates as you move throughout the day. It winds itself. You don't need a battery and you don't need to wind it.

3) Quartz: These use batteries. Your watch will include a brand new battery. They can last anywhere from six months to a few years, depending on the watch.

I changed my mind! Can I cancel my order and get a full refund?

We don't accept cancellations for a refund. Instead, we offer you store credit which you can use on any of our other items. This store credit is good for one year.
