This gleaming, SO VERY GOLDEN vintage Seiko ladies cocktail watch has everything vintage Seikos are known for: quirky, edgy Brutalist/Minimalist design, cutting edge technology, unparalleled build quality, and precision. PLUS, I painstakingly restored all the internal mechanicals to operate just like the day it was made—way back in balmy June 1979. (You're welcome!)
Forbes, Inc, and Money magazines all agree: Seiko are the best watches in the world for the money. They're indestructible, cool-looking, easy to use, and remarkably affordable. But, let's not pretend we're more practical than we really are. I bought it for one reason, and you will, too: BECAUSE IT'S SO SEXY. (How can you not? Did you see the tiny silver chain? SO CHARMING!)
It's dainty. The SHINY handcrafted tonneau case is is 0.75" (19mm) across and 1" (26mm) tall. The face surfaces of the case and bracelet have all been hand etched with an ornate score/houndstooth pattern—by what must be the most patient, steady-handed person in the history of EVER. The "brownburst" minimalist dial features elegant, simple stick hour markers and easy-to-read white pointed baton hands. It has an extremely sturdy integrated link bracelet with locking clasp and a ridiculously charming, dainty retainer chain.
It demands attention. You can't wear it without someone asking you about it. Try it, you'll see what I mean. It will work great under a jacket or with short sleeved shirts and dresses. It adds a major flourish to casual outfits, denim, date night, business casual, and ESPECIALLY PERFECT WITH ALL CAPS FOREVER for little black dresses and sleeveless formal-wear. (BONUS: It's a must for vintage anime costumes, like Macross, Mazinger, and Gundam cosplay outfits!)
It's powered by a 17 jewel "calibre 11A" hand-winding mechanical movement. What are these jewels? They're special rubies inside the watch that keep the gears working forever. More rubies = more expensive = more prestigious = more accurate = longer life.
BUT THERE'S MORE: It has a high-frequency (aka high beat) movement, meaning more "ticks" per second—for "greater precision." It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, versus the normal 18,000 VPH. (Is high beat really way more accurate? Not really. But it was cool, cutting-edge technology at the time. That made it substantially more expensive. So, at least there's that.)
SIZE NOTE: It fits wrists up to a MAX of 7.0" (17.8cm). (Measure around your wrist with a measuring tape before ordering.) Any jewelry store can remove links for smaller wrists.

🕰 SEIKO HISTORY 🕰
Seiko founder Kintaro Hattori was 21 years old when he opened the K. Hattori watch and clock shop in Tokyo’s Kyobashi district in 1882. In 1892, he partnered with engineer Tsuruhiko Yoshikawa to build the Seikosha watch factory, forerunner of today’s Seiko. After years of producing clocks, Seikosha released its first pocketwatch in 1895. Hattori quickly recognized the growing worldwide popularity of the wristwatch would outpace pocketwatches. The first watch with Seiko on the dial was made in 1924.
Under the management of Shinji Hattori (descended from the founder) Seiko continues to make highly-respected watches, always focusing on technological innovations.
🔎 CONDITION 🔍
It's cosmetically in VERY GOOD used condition. The case, caseback, crown, and bracelet show signs of wear commensurate with ~40 years of use and handling, including micro-scratches and very tiny dings. The crystal, hands, and mechanical movement are EXCELLENT. One of the super tiny raised markers on the dial (at 4 o'clock) is missing, but you wouldn't ever notice if I hadn't pointed it out. I had this watch for years before I ever noticed! The clasp is tight and the tiny retainer chain looks great.
HOW DOES IT RUN? The mechanical operating condition of the high-beat Seiko 11A 17-jewel movement is LIKE NEW. I fully restored it to ensure you're getting a dependable, functional timepiece. Every single tiny piece of this watch was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, adjusted, reassembled, and calibrated to keep time as well as the day it was first made. Sounds complicated and expensive? It was. A full servicing and mechanical restoration like this generally costs at least $200. (That's over $200 that YOU don't have to pay.)
⏰ OPERATION ⏰
This is a hand winding watch. Wind it daily. Turn the winding crown clockwise until you feel resistance, then stop. Pull out the crown and rotate it to set the time. Push it back in when you're done.
If you want it to last a lifetime, keep it wound every day, even if you're not wearing it.
NOT WATER RESISTANT. Keep it dry!
Of course, it's not about telling time. It's about how it makes you feel. For creative individualists, a watch is a powerful tool that amplifies the expression of your individuality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A signature is required for all shipments. That way you can rest assured that your items will arrive safely. Make sure to use a shipping address where someone can sign for your package, otherwise you'll have to go to the post office to collect it.
What shipping method do you use?
Items with free shipping are sent by USPS First Class with insurance and signature required.
International orders ship via USPS Priority.
Upgraded shipping is USPS Priority Express mail with insurance and signature required.
Can I upgrade to faster shipping?
Yes! Upgraded shipping is via USPS Priority Express Mail with insurance and signature required. It usually takes 1-2 days within the continental USA.
Can I get a different colored watchband?
I have watchbands in many different styles, colors and materials. If you love the watch but want a different color band, send me a message. I'll see if I have the color you want in my inventory. If I don't, you can swap out the band for any strap you'd like by buying one online or taking it to your local jeweler or watch repair store.
Does my watch need a battery?
It depends on the watch.
1) Mechanical (hand-winding): These watches use a spring and gears to run. There is no battery. You must wind the watch once daily for it to keep running. Most of my watches are this kind.
2) Mechanical (automatic/kinetic): These use a spring and gears as well as a swinging pendulum that rotates as you move throughout the day. It winds itself. You don't need a battery and you don't need to wind it.
3) Quartz: These use batteries. Your watch will include a brand new battery. They can last anywhere from six months to a few years, depending on the watch.
I changed my mind! Can I cancel my order and get a full refund?
We don't accept cancellations for a refund. Instead, we offer you store credit which you can use on any of our other items. This store credit is good for one year.
Will the vintage watchband fit me?
Use a measuring tape to measure around your wrist.
All my detailed descriptions include the max wrist size of the bracelet. Bracelets are standardized. They're not an integral part of the watch itself. It's easy to change the band.
Gift wrapping and packaging
My gift wrapping is awesome. Choose the gift wrapping upgrade during checkout. Make sure to let me know the name of the person getting the gift so I can write it on the card.
The bracelet (aka band or strap) is usually NOT an integral part of the "watch" itself. It's normal (and somewhat expected) that you'll have a jeweler adjust the band to fit you, or replace the band with one that you can try on in person. Watchbands are standardized and available from any jeweler, watch shop, and online.
